Photos of Marin and Santa Cruz

Photos From Marin County and Santa Cruz Tiburon, Pt Reyes and Santa Cruz We drove a couple hundred miles back to Novato on Saturday so we could have brunch with my aunt and uncle on Sunday. I have not spent enough time with either in far too long, so it was nice having a few hours. The weather kept getting better. I could not believe it. We went for brunch at a nice outdoor cafe on the water in Tiburon. Afterward, we drove to Point Reyes then out by the Marin Headlands to take a few more photos. By the …

Photos From Redwoods National Park

The Drive from Eureka to Crescent City Photos From US Hwy 101 Between Eureka and Crescent City We woke up in Eureka on Saturday morning. My good friend, Cathy, had the day off so she joined Tanya, Buddy and me as we ventured further north to take some more photos. We went up into the Redwoods National Forest then to Crescent City before stopping in Trinidad for an early dinner. It was a fairly overcast day and we did get a little rain, but hey, it is November, and we were pretty far north.

Photos From the Avenue of the Giants

Photos From the California Redwoods Our Drive To Humboldt Redwoods State Park Tanya arrived on Wednesday evening. Thursday morning we decided we wanted to go somewhere. We thought about Utah, but for some reason the weather appeared to be nicer up north, so we decided to head up to see the Redwoods. We spent Thursday evening in Novato so we had nothing but nice scenery all day Friday. The weather was amazing. We ended the day in Eureka where we spent then evening with a dear friend.

An Old Friend

We spent Friday evening with my friend, Cathy. We have been friends since she saved my butt in 1971. She did not even know who I was, but she went out of her way to keep me from killing myself. There is no one that has known me longer and we have the history to prove it. My photo of the day for day 317 is of Tanya, Cathy and myself at a beach north of Eureka, probably by Humboldt.

Visiting Humboldt State Park

Tanya and I decided to go check out the Redwoods since she has not been more than 50 miles north of San Francisco. We started off nice and early in Novato and the day’s weather was amazing. Uncharacteristically so. My photo of the day for day 316 is of Tanya and I at one of the many roadside attractions found along US Highway 101.

Off To See Giants

As I mentioned, Tanya is back in town, so we decided to move to our personal cone of silence, the Charger, and discuss the future. I know that will be misinterpreted. Anyway, we headed north. This photo was taken at our dinner stop in Beullton. We should have gone to Taco Bell instead.

Tanya Returns

So, Tanya came back to LA for the first time since my Movember shave. Her first words? “What did you do with my boyfriend?” Perfect. So, it is settled, the grow back begins December 1 or else we are going to have to redo our logo, t-shirts and business cards. My photo of the day is of Tanya trying to make me resemble the guy she left a few weeks ago.

Not Digging It

For the life of me, I can not understand why people have thought that me shaving was a good idea. I am hating this new look and I can not wait for December when I can start growing a beard again. My picture of the day today shows how scruffy my early morning walks have become. As a reminder, I have committed to growing a moustache this month to raise funds and bring awareness to the many cancers that affect men. Contributions are being accepted all month, so if you support the cause please visit my page on Movember.com. Thanks …

Another Wet Morning

They say we are in an El Nina weather condition which is supposed to mean less rain than normal. I wonder what it would be like if it was an El Nino. I would probably have to just let Buddy go for morning and evening swims. My photo for today is of a rose in full bloom with the remnants of the early morning rain.

Beauty Treatment

I am not really sure what it is about mud and water, but Buddy sure has a knack for finding both. I can only presume it is part of his grooming process since he will spend the next few hours cleaning himself up. My photo of the day for day 311 is Buddy after finding the only mud in a one mile radius.
