Since we ended up doing a loop around the Grand Canyon, it dropped us off in Navajo land. It is really beautiful there. It is pretty obvious that there is a lot of poverty, but the people I spoke with truly appreciate the land their reservation is on. One of the highlights of the drive was coming across a roadside attraction that had dinosaur tracks, bones, eggs and droppings. It was very cool. Photos from the Grand Canyon

As we continued towards the Grand Canyon, we were given two options. Grand Canyon Village or Desert View. I did not know where I wanted to go. Desert View sounded cool, so I took the turn fully anticipating to go a few miles, then backtrack to Grand Canyon Village. As it turned out, the turn towards Desert View was definitely the right way to go. We just followed the road all the way around the park. When we left Flagstaff, we decided to avoid the Interstate and took the 180 Hwy towards the south rim of the Grand Canyon. On the way we saw a sign for the Arizona Snowbowl. I had never heard of it, but had seen it mentioned around Flagstaff, so naturally, I had to take the turn off to check it out. These photos were taken at the Arizona Snowbowl. After leaving Sedona, we took a scenic drive up Arizona Hwy 89A to Flagstaff. When we were at the Oak Creek Brewing Company in Sedona, the owner told us about the Lumberyard Brewing Company in Flagstaff, so that is where we headed for dinner. Their food was so-so, but priced as such, so it was okay. Their beer was very good and priced right. Tomorrow, the Grand Canyon. I ended March and began April a trade show in Tempe, AZ. Since Tanya’s birthday is in the beginning of April, we decided to do a smaller repeat performance of our road trip last year. Sunday morning, we headed out of Tempe and headed north to Sedona. What a welcome relief from the heat of Tempe. We found a nice micro brewery, Oak Creek Brewing Company, and tried their sampler. If you are a regular reader of GotBaddog.com you will recall that last week Tanya and I went up to Yosemite to try and photograph a natural phenomena that occurs the last two weeks of February at Horsetail Falls. This phenomena requires a few things to be right in order for the effect to happen. Valentine’s Day at Yosemite

Since we had such good luck last week, shooting Horsetail Falls, I decided to come back to Yosemite. As I was driving back up to Oakhurst, I realized I never finished putting up the pictures from our Valentine’s weekend. I completely missed the photos from Valentine’s Day itself. It was very overcast, and it was obvious a storm was headed our way, so we cut through the park and came out on Highway 41. These are the photos from Yosemite National Park, going from 140 across to 41.

Last week, I was invited by director Jennifer James and producer Susie Olsen to attend the premiere of their new film, “Mommy & Me” which was shown at a private screening last night. The event was held at the Raleigh Studios, with the screening at the Chaplin Theater. The had a red carpet arrival and reception prior to the showing, with some munchies served after the film was shown. If you enjoy romantic comedies, and have a fetish that is different than most, you will likely enjoy this film. I hope you enjoy the photos.
