Photos from Horsetail Falls at Yosemite

Since we had pretty good luck on Saturday, we decided to return to Horsetail Falls on Sunday. We got there about 3.5 hours early and picked our spot. Everything looked great until the sun started going down. There was a huge cloud bank which threatened to block the sun’s rays from hitting the falls, a very important ingredient to the equation. To be honest, I was ready to pack it in along with many others. Luckily, Tanya wanted to stick it out. At the last minute the sun broke through and we got our shots.

Photos from Yosemite and Horsetail Falls

Although we have been a couple for almost four years now, this is the first Valentine’s Day that we will spend together. I decided that it would be nice if we celebrated it by going to see something that relatively few people have seen. For a few weeks of February, Horsetail Falls, in Yosemite National Park, puts on a show that is only visible for 10 or 15 minutes a day. We spoke with people that have tried to photograph it unsuccessfully for years. We got it on our first try.

Early day

I am not really sure what is going on. Granted, my internal clock knows when to go off, if something is happening the next day, but I had nothing happening until 9:30. Why the heck was I awake at 7:00 AM? That is just not right. My picture of the day for day 42 of Project365 is of me walking through the park, looking kind of tired.

Family photo

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood. It is tough to find a better way to start the day than a nice morning walk on a sunny morning. My picture of the day for day 41 of Project365 is of Buddy and me as we walk through Columbia Park, in Torrance.

A nice day for a ride

So, my girlfriend came into town a couple days ago, and I finally got a photo of us together. We had a trade show in Hollywood to attend, and since February is one of the nicer times of the year to go for a motorcycle ride, we took advantage of the weather and beat the traffic by taking the Limited. My photo of the day for day 40 of Project365 is of Tanya and I cruising across I-10 on the way to Hollywood.

Steelers’ Fans

For some unknown reason, there seems to be a large contingent of Steelers’ fans that live around here. I always see them with their flags and banners hanging outside their homes. I might see an occasional college team flag in front of someone’s home, but nowhere near the number of Steelers flags. My photo of the day for the 39th day of Project365 is of a decoration that I am sure the homeowner wishes he did not do. I wonder how long it will take his lawn to erase this memory.

Me and ET

This morning as I was walking through the park, I ran into my old friend, E.T. As you can tell by the photo, he is very thin these days and I should have combed my hair. My picture of the day for day 38 of Project365 is of E.T. and me as we walked through the park.

Photos from Wasa Sushi, Newport Beach

A couple of friends of mine read this blog, and follow me on Facebook (see sidebar –>), and as a result have seen many photos from my visits to Gu Gu Sushi. A couple of weeks ago, we decided that we would have a sushi exchange program. I would visit their favorite sushi establishment and then we would all go to Gu Gu and see who had the best sushi. Last Saturday, I joined them at Wasa On the Bluffs, in Newport Beach, CA. It was a fun ride there and back, and the sushi was good. They are more …

Super Bowl Sunday

Today presented a bit of a challenge in taking my picture for Project365. It was wet and foggy when we started our morning walk, so it made sticking to the theme of this month a little tougher. Fortunately, by the time we reached the 3/4 mark, the sun started breaking through. My picture of the day for day 37 is of me walking through the park on a foggy morning.
