GotBaddog will be at ad:tech San Francisco 2011

Next week, the Internet Marketing event, ad:tech San Francisco 2011 will take place at the Moscone Center in the city of my birth, San Francisco, CA. I have talked with show organizers and have been given the green light to bring my camera in and cover the show. I have been coming to ad:tech since 2007, which I believe was in Chicago. The New York City show in 2008 was my first venture to NYC and I was very impressed with the size of the venue and the number of vendors/attendees. Soon after, the San Francisco show became even larger …

Photos from ad:techs past

Since GotBaddog.com will be attending and photographing the upcoming Internet marketing event, ad:tech San Francisco, I thought I would hunt down some photos from past Ad Techs I have attended. I have been attending ad:tech since 2007 at Chicago, New York City and San Francisco. Of course, back then I was using a point and shoot so the quality of the photos is not the greatest. This year’s photos will be a lot better, I promise. If you see your photo here and would like your name added to the caption, please register, then contact me. I will give you …

Photos from Hovenweep National Monument

When we left Cortez we saw a sign pointing to Hovenweep National Monument. As we had never heard of it before, it sounded like a new destination. The Monument consists of six clusters of Native American ruins. The natural foliage made it a picturesque setting. These photos are from the Hovenweep area. Photos from Four Corners Monument

When we made our trip last year, we had no direction. We had somewhere we had to be on a certain date and the route we took to get there was of no consequence. There was one thing I wanted to do and it was stand in four states at once at Four Corners Monument. Somehow, we completely missed it even though we had to have been within 50 miles of it. I have no excuse, I must have missed the sign. Luckily, it was directly on the route from the Grand Canyon to Cortez, CO. I mean, I did …

Photos from our visit to Cortez, CO

Last year, Tanya and I made a 30 day, 20 state, 8,000 mile road trip. One of our favorite establishments we encountered during the entire trip was Main Street Brewery in Cortez, CO. To be honest, our entire trip centered around going back to Cortez just to dine and drink there. I was looking forward to seeing Rudy, the owner, however I discovered he retired last September. I met Janet, the new owner. She assured me that they still used the same beef and retained the same brew master, so all was good. We even returned the next day to …

Photos from the Navajo Nation

Since we ended up doing a loop around the Grand Canyon, it dropped us off in Navajo land. It is really beautiful there. It is pretty obvious that there is a lot of poverty, but the people I spoke with truly appreciate the land their reservation is on. One of the highlights of the drive was coming across a roadside attraction that had dinosaur tracks, bones, eggs and droppings. It was very cool. I also had an epiphany and could totally relate to how pissed the Native Americans must have been to have a railroad cutting through their land. Had …

Photos from the Grand Canyon

As we continued towards the Grand Canyon, we were given two options. Grand Canyon Village or Desert View. I did not know where I wanted to go. Desert View sounded cool, so I took the turn fully anticipating to go a few miles, then backtrack to Grand Canyon Village. As it turned out, the turn towards Desert View was definitely the right way to go. We just followed the road all the way around the park. Photos from the Arizona Snowbowl

When we left Flagstaff, we decided to avoid the Interstate and took the 180 Hwy towards the south rim of the Grand Canyon. On the way we saw a sign for the Arizona Snowbowl. I had never heard of it, but had seen it mentioned around Flagstaff, so naturally, I had to take the turn off to check it out. These photos were taken at the Arizona Snowbowl. Photos from Flagstaff, AZ

After leaving Sedona, we took a scenic drive up Arizona Hwy 89A to Flagstaff. When we were at the Oak Creek Brewing Company in Sedona, the owner told us about the Lumberyard Brewing Company in Flagstaff, so that is where we headed for dinner. Their food was so-so, but priced as such, so it was okay. Their beer was very good and priced right. Tomorrow, the Grand Canyon. These photos are from Flagstaff, AZ and the Lumberyard Brewing Company. Back to the Photos of Flagstaff Back to the Photos of Flagstaff

Photos from Sedona, Arizona

I ended March and began April a trade show in Tempe, AZ. Since Tanya’s birthday is in the beginning of April, we decided to do a smaller repeat performance of our road trip last year. Sunday morning, we headed out of Tempe and headed north to Sedona. What a welcome relief from the heat of Tempe. We found a nice micro brewery, Oak Creek Brewing Company, and tried their sampler. Good stuff. These photos are from Sedona and the outskirts. Very beautiful country. Back to Photos from Sedona, AZ Back to Photos from Sedona, AZ
