Our First Christmas Card

Tanya and I have been dating for more than three years, but there are certain things we have never done together. We have never celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years together. It was not until this past July that we were together on my birthday. I guess we are now officially one step closer to being accepted as a couple. We got our first Christmas card that was addressed to the two of us. My picture of the day for day 343 is of Tanya and I holding our first Christmas card that we received from our friends, Phil and …

Photos of the Mooneye’s Christmas Drags 2010

Mooneye’s Christmas Drags 2010 Irwindale, CA As a part of the Mooneye’s Christmas Party and car show, they also had drag races on the 1/8 mile strip. The best part of this event was that all the racers were pre-1969 vehicles only. They had some rail dragsters on display and they fired them up, but the track is not really long enough for that kind of action. It was fun watching them and practicing my action photography.

Photos from the 2010 Mooneye’s Christmas Party

Mooneye’s Christmas Party 2010 Irwindale, CA Last year, a friend of mine from up north came into town for the Mooneye’s Christmas Party Car Show and Drags. As it was cold and raining, I did not bother going out there. I had heard that there was a decent turnout, but the rain put a damper on things, literally. This year was exactly the opposite. It was a beautiful 80 degree day out at Irwindale. There were loads of nice bikes and cars and lots of people. It was a great day to be in Southern California.

Photos From Trump National Golf Club

A December Day at the Shore Rancho Palos Verdes, CA A few weeks ago, while walking Buddy I met a guy that had recently moved into the area. We were discussing places to walk our dogs and he mentioned a dog beach out by the Trump National Golf Club on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. This was news to me as I thought the closest dog friendly beach to me was down in Long Beach. Today, Tanya, Buddy and I took a drive up there to check it out. The Trump National Golf Club looks amazing, but for $250 million, I …

341 Days Later

Tanya wanted to go to Barnes & Noble to do some research. I was planning on buying The Kid some books for Christmas, so it made sense to tag along and finish up my Christmas shopping. I bought four classics and Tanya discovered she already owned the best book for her needs. Since our errands were complete and Lucille’s was across the parking lot, we decided to stop by for dinner. While eating I recalled that my very first Project 365 photo was taken at Lucille’s. I decided that my photo of the day for day 342 would be of …

Curbed

Next to finding a photo worth taking each day, probably the most difficult part of Project 365 is thinking of something interesting to say about the photo. Today is a perfect example of this. My picture of the day for day 341 is of Buddy. At the end of every walk, Buddy lets me remove his Gentle Leader and leash, then he sits, watching the house, waiting for the signal to get his furry butt over there and in the back yard.

Walking Together

Tanya is not much of a morning person so she has never joined Buddy and me on our morning walks. However, nine times out of ten she will join us for our evening walks. My picture of the day for day 340 is of the three of us on an evening walk, waiting for the light to change.

Motorcycle Toy Run

Sunday, Tanya and I went out to Chatsworth for a motorcycle toy run. This is something I have been doing for about 30 years. Bikers used to get a bad rap before Harley-Davidson became a status symbol for lawyers and doctors, so I do what I can to clean up that image. My picture of the day for day 339 is of me on my Limited, toys strapped on and loaded into the saddle bags, headed out to a toy run sponsored by the HA. There must be a clubhouse in heaven set aside for them.

Ride To Cooks Corner

Saturday, my son called and asked if I wanted to go for a ride. Since it was not raining and Tanya was game, I was all for it. We met down in San Juan Capistrano then rode over to Cook’s Corner for lunch. All in all, not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon. My photo of the day 338 was taken at Cook’s Corner. Featured are Tanya with my Limited and Daniel with his Fat Boy.
