Don Quijote’s Spanish Restaurante [adrotate group=”6″] Indiana’s oldest and only authentic Spanish restaurant I enjoy good food. Finding good food can present a challenge at times, especially when you travel to places that are not exactly tourist attractions. Northwest Indiana is one of those places. While Cracker Barrel and Steak and Shake are okay in a pinch, they do not exactly meet my standards for a quality meal. Don Quijote’s Restaurante in downtown Valparaiso definitely is the exception to the rule as far as good food is concerned. I first heard of the place when driving here from Chicago. There …
Death Valley Days [adrotate group=”6″] Adventure in the Mojave Desert As we headed home from Las Vegas we decided to take a detour to one of California’s most overlooked destinations, Death Valley. Death Valley offers some amazing scenery along with its abundance of minerals. Traveling to Death Valley reminds me of what it might be like to visit another planet. [adrotate group=”1″]
Valley of Fire [adrotate group=”6″] Amazing landscape in the Nevada desert My girlfriend and I were scheduled to be in Vegas longer than we needed to be so we decided to spend a day in the Mojave Desert, taking pictures. We have a good friend that is a professional photographer and he agreed to show us some of his favorite spots in the Valley of Fire State Park. He also gave us some photography tips that we put to good use, immediately. This place has some amazing rock formations and landscapes that were enhanced by the winter skies. There was …
Winter Sunsets [adrotate group=”6″] Looking over the Palos Verdes Peninsula Every once in a while I fire up one of the bikes around sunset and head up to the hills. Rolling Hills, on the Palos Verdes Peninsula to be precise. The sunsets we get are pretty spectacular as you can see. [adrotate group=”1″]
Gu Gu Sushi [adrotate group=”6″] Specialty Rolls Gu Gu Sushi is my go to place when I want to blow someone away. I have taken so many people here and everyone walks away with the same, “we have to do that again” response. I let the first time visitor pick whatever they want, because the most mediocre roll I ever had there was pretty dang good. If you like sushi, and are close to Hermosa Beach, do yourself a favor. You can thank me later. [adrotate group=”1″]
