These photos were taken at our latest Business N Beer get-together that we had last night at Strand Brewing Company in Torrance. As yesterday was International IPA Day, it was fitting that we met at a micro brewery that provides such nice ales, and in particular, a couple very nice IPA’s. The group was a little smaller than last week, but several people that were at Strand Brewing anyway worked their way over to our group to find out more about Business N Beer. Our host even mentioned how he had noticed people coming over to check us out; and some of our attendees mingled with the other patrons. People networking over a beer.
The common question I am asked by the curious is, “what is Business N Beer?” In a nutshell, Business N Beer is a bunch of small business owners (and craft beer enthusiasts) that get together on Thursday evenings to network. Most own their own business, or their job requires that they network with others. We have real estate and insurance agents, IT guys, Internet marketers, an inventor, people seeking work. It really covers the spectrum. There are networking groups out there that meet before work at a Denny’s or at Sizzler for lunch; with mandatory attendance and dues. We meet after work, no dues and no mandatory meetings. We are local business owners supporting local businesses, local brewers and craft beer. Just come socialize and maybe do some business. If nothing else, you will find some amazing beers and most likely we will go somewhere you have yet to visit. Every week we go somewhere different, you will enjoy.
Next week we will be meeting at the first gastropub in our circuit, The Rockefeller, in Hermosa Beach. For those still unsure on what a gastropub is, it is a restaurant with high quality foods and high quality beers. The Rockefeller offers about 25 different craft beers on tap, and they serve flights that you can build yourself. It is a great way to try beers you are unfamiliar with. They have bottled beers as well as wine. They have a nice menu with reasonable prices. We have been frequenting them for a few months now and always enjoy the experience. Be sure to sign up for our mailing list at BUSINESSnBEER.com or follow us on Facebook to stay in the loop with where we will be next. We have a great schedule coming up.
