Sunday on the Main Stage at the 2012 PV Street Fair

These photos are of the musical entertainment found on the Main Stage on Sunday at the 2012 Palos Verdes Street Fair & Music Festival. While this was my first PV Street Fair, it was pretty obvious by the attendance around the main stage that there were plenty of regular visitors; and there were bands that were definitely crowd favorites. I found myself rocking while photographing the crowd and the bands. The bands featured are Zydeco Party Band, Jimbo Ross & the Bodacious Blues Band, Pretzel Logic, Credence Relived and Ticket to Ride. While I enjoyed all the acts, Pretzel Logic …

Sunday at the 2012 PV Street Fair: Petting Zoo, rides and vendors

These photos are from Sunday at the 2012 Palos Verdes Street Fair & Music Festival. Since I got so many photos Sunday, I am forced to break the day up into three sections to make it easier for you to find the photos you are looking for. This particular gallery consists of the following: the petting zoo, the pony rides, the carnival rides and games and ending with the vendors. As I mentioned in the gallery of vendors from Saturday, one of the reasons I take so many photos is to help give exposure to local businesses. That being said, …

2012 PV Street Fair: Petting Zoo, Pony and Carnival Rides

These photos are from Saturday at the 2012 PV Street Fair & Music Festival and include the petting zoo, pony ride and the carnival rides and games. As you can see, the PV Street Fair was definitely a family fun event. I would like to thank the guy running the Super Shot ride for allowing me some time up top to get photos of the fair from high atop it. These photos are sponsored by GotWebHost.com. Saturday at the Palos Verdes Street Fair – Top Dogs, Dancing and Music

This past weekend was the 25th Annual Palos Verdes Street Fair & Music Festival. Those of you that are regular guests know I have a tendency to take a lot of photos when I cover an event; and as the official photographer you know I took thousands of photos each day. In order to make them manageable, and so you can find yourself, your kids, pets or booth I will break Saturday and Sunday into three groups for each day. This gallery consists of the Top Dogs Show, the musical entertainment on the main stage (includes The Iliana Rose Cuban …

The Kings Win the 2012 Stanley Cup

The Los Angeles Kings have won the 2012 Stanley Cup; the first time they have accomplished this since the franchise was founded way back in 1967. I decided to head over to Staples Center after I was convinced that I could not jinx their chances, and even though New Jersey scored about two minutes after I headed out, it was not enough to stop the Kings as they skated on to a 6-1 victory. While I was relatively confident there would be no issues with crowd control, I parked about a good half-mile away (behind LAPD’s staging area) which turned …

Photos from the 4th Annual PV Teen Night

These photos were taken Friday night at the 4th Annual PV Teen Night; which was held in conjunction with the 25th Annual Palos Verdes Street Fair & Music Festival. The street fair itself did not begin until Saturday, but all the carnival rides and food vendors were set up and ready to go Friday while the rest of the vendors, stages and tents were being worked on, most likely throughout the night. Friday night was limited just to the kids and proceeds from the ticket sales went to benefit local schools on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The kids did not …

The Rockefeller Gastropub, Hermosa Beach

Last month, during American Craft Beer Week (ACBW), I accidentally discovered The Rockefeller Gastropub on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach. I will never forget our first visit there. It was day six of ACBW and it was my goal to find as many American craft beers that I had never tried before as possible. The fact that I was able to come up with 12 new brews at that point of our adventure truly said something about the quality of the brews they pour. As Colleen, the manager, said, “We try to keep a good turnaround of quality brews.” They …

These photos are of Division II till the end, of the 2012 Torrance Armed Forces Day Parade. These photos begin with the North High School Saxon Regiment and Color Guard. Parade entries include several ROTC and JROTC’s; as well as Navy and Coast Guard floats. My alma mater, Bishop Montgomery, returned to the parade with one of the more entertaining high school marching bands I have seen in a while. Also included in this group of photos are the Torrance Torrettes and the 1st North Carolina Cavalry Civil War Re-enactors. The watermark was donated to the Rheumatoid Patient Foundation, the …
