At Home in Spearfish
Today I had the opportunity to show Tanya my Mecca, that being Sturgis and Spearfish, SD. When I am there I am at total peace. Day 123 of Project 365 is a photo of me at The Stadium in Spearfish, SD.

Spent the day in South Dakota. This is my Holy Land and every visit is very spiritual for me. Today’s photo of the day for Project 365 is Tanya and I at the foot of Mount Rushmore as it began to snow on us.
Project 365 – April [adrotate group=”6″] Photos From April 2010 What a great month. I am really thankful that I have Project 365 there to help me remember all the places I went in April. We had AZ, NV, UT, NM, CO, OK, TX, LA, MS, AR, TN, KY, MO, NE, IA, IN, SD and KS. Drove over 5,000 miles, went to at least five National Parks, a bunch of state parks and so much more. Great month for sure. [adrotate group=”1″]
Got an early start this morning on our way to the Badlands. As we approached I-90 we saw a sign for J&L Harley-Davidson in Sioux Falls, SD. We decided to stop by and pick up a couple t-shirts. To my surprise they were giving free demo rides of the new Harleys. I inquired and the next group was heading out in 15 minutes. I was on it like white on rice. Today’s photo is me riding on a 2010 Harley-Davidson Limited. Great bike and a great way to start the day.
As has been par for the course, no matter which direction we headed today, the tornadoes went in the other direction. Today’s photo was taken at Hunter Cemetery in the middle of nowhere, Missouri. As you can tell by the smile, at least one person is happy about the blue skies.
Spent several hours in Hannibal, MO today. Just before we headed out, I was looking for Mark Twain’s Caves. I guess I got semi lost because I never found them, however, I did see a sign pointing to Lovers Leap. It was a no brainer. Today’s photo for Project 365 is one of me and my love high atop Lovers Leap, looking over the Mississippi River.
Day 118 of Project 365 and it is time to go west. My GPS says it is 2,000 miles and 30 hours away, but I have a feeling it is going to take a lot longer and cover many more miles than that. Today’s daily photo shows Tanya, Buddy and I packed and headed out the driveway.
Day 117 of Project 365 finds Tanya and me on the coast of the Bering Sea. I never realized how close it was to Indiana. Okay, maybe I am exaggerating a little, but it was cold enough. This photo shows us on the shore of Lake Michigan.
Tanya’s birthday seems to be a long one this year. Today’s Project 365 daily photo shows Tanya and I outside Gaucho’s while we await their opening.
Today, Tanya cooked up some of the morel mushrooms we found yesterday. From what I recall, you soak the morels in salt water for several hours to kill any life forms that may have taken up residence in them. You then melt a couple pounds of butter, beat a few eggs, dip the mushrooms in the eggs, roll them in some flour, then fry them up in the melted butter. They are okay, but if I lived somewhere like IN I would probably sell them as I could never eat as many as we found. Today’s photo is the end …
