Cold and rainy night. Good wine, nice fire, just need you. Day 50 of Project 365
Cold and rainy night. Good wine, nice fire, just need you. Day 50 of Project 365
Every weekend I am home, I try to take a motorcycle ride to somewhere cool. When my son joins me, we frequently end up at a winery or brewery. Many of these locations not only have a nice variety of beverages, but have very good food to go along with it. A couple weeks ago, we headed up to Solvang and discovered Sort This Out Cellars. To be honest, I do not recall the last time I had visited Solvang. I kind of remembered the windmill and European style architecture, but it had been long enough that I remembered nothing …
Trying out the gift I received from my girl. It worked great. Day 49.
Buddy began barking, so I took a peek out the front screen. A little mail carrier was walking up the drive with a box almost as big as she was. I knew it was a Valentine’s Day gift from my girlfriend, but I had obviously guessed incorrectly as to what it might be. I mean, this box was 3’x3’x3’. What could it be? Guess there will be no excuses for not remembering to update. Day 48 of Project 365.
It is Valentine’s Day, and in the mid to high 70’s. Sounds like a perfect day for a ride. It was. Took the Night Train up to Rolling Hills and headed for the cliffs. This video is taken along Crest Road and filmed with my Contour HD helmet cam. If I can not be with my baby, this is the next best thing.
Headed up the 246 we leave Los Padres enter Santa Ynez and the Chumash Indian Reservation. Yes, there is a casino. No, we did not stop there. Maybe next time. If I do, I will be sure to do a review. hmmm, wonder if I can slide my helmet cam by security. Just kidding guys. Anyway, Daniel is on his Fat Boy and I am on the Electra Glide. Filmed with the ContourHD helmet cam.
Just in case I do not make the Olympic downhill event, I will practice for the Giant Slalom as well. Day 47.
Since they would not let me compete this year I decided to start training now. Day 46 of Project 365.
February 14 and t-shirt weather in the South Bay, time for my Sunday ride. I took the Night Train out and headed for the hills. I ended up riding along the Palos Verdes coastline and wound up at Walker’s Cafe. As you can see by the video, many others were out taking advantage of our great Winter weather.
