Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day, and what better way to celebrate than to enjoy some of the best beers brewed in the South Bay at the Easy Reader 1st Annual Froth Awards held at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach. They called it the Froth Awards, but I do not think it was as much a competition as an award of recognition to the rising stars of brewing in the South Bay. Last night we had another Business & Beer, this time returning to my favorite brewpub, The Brewery at Abigaile in Hermosa Beach. This was our first meetup in two weeks, and the first since Lent started, so I am not sure how much this combination contributed to our smaller than normal turnout. I have to admit, it seems like I have been going to Abigaile longer than that, but the fact of the matter is that we did not even discover Abigaile and the Brewery at Abigaile until last May during American Craft Beer Week. These photos are from the week 19 meeting of Business & Beer which was held at The Brewery at Abigaile in Hermosa Beach. The Brewery at Abigaile is my favorite brewpub and has one of the best varieties of in-house brewed beers of any of the local South Bay breweries. It was a cold and damp evening so the attendance level was down a little but the enthusiasm of those that did attend did not wane. Thursday night, The Brewery at Abigaile hosted a “celebration of local craft beer” and the release of the October issue of Beach Magazine which is pretty much dedicated to the craft beer scene in the South Bay area. I know it sounds like I spend a lot of time at Abigaile and The Brewery at Abigaile; but this place is so much fun and they have such good beer and food available, that it is worth making a detour over there every once in a while. Last night we went to the Abigaile Fall Gathering open house in Hermosa Beach. If you read this blog with any regularity you have probably heard me mention them on numerous occasions as they house The Brewery at Abigaile. We discovered them during American Craft Beer Week when the manager at The Rockefeller recommended them to us. We quickly became big fans. LA Beer Week started on Thursday, September 20, and Business & Beer acknowledged the event by returning to The Brewery at Abigaile in Hermosa Beach. Last night we had our second Business N Beer gathering; this time at The Brewery at Abigaile in Hermosa Beach, CA. Abigaile is a brewpub that currently offers five really nice brews with the Full Nelson, an XPA, being my current favorite. The Brewery’s brewmaster, Brian Brewer, came over and talked beer with our group. I know several mentioned that they enjoyed the experience.
