These photos were taken Sunday at the Torrance Kiwanis annual Texas Hold ’Em Charity Poker Tournament; which was held at the Palos Verdes Bowl in Torrance, CA. This is one of the Torrance Kiwanis biggest fundraisers of the year, so it was good to see the large turnout. In addition to the poker, there was a silent auction that included such items as tickets to an Angel’s game, bowling, Patron tequila and Dom Perignon champagne. Truly something for everyone.
The Kiwanis are a service club with about 8,000 chapters in 96 countries, with the mission: “To serve children of the world.” The Torrance Kiwanis strive to achieve this goal by providing scholarships to deserving high school students at West, South, North and Torrance high schools as well as volunteering at the Special Olympics and Santas Visit at Harbor UCLA Medical Center and numerous other activities.
I donated the watermark to the Rheumatoid Patient Foundation because children suffer from Rheumatoid Autoimmune Disease as well as adults.
