A return visit to Monkish Brewing and Strand Brewing

As a result of our participation and documentation of the American Craft Beer Week in May, we became aware of several new local craft brewers, two of which are Monkish Brewing and Strand Brewing Company, both of which are located in Torrance. For me personally, one of the greatest advantages of micro breweries is that there is a pretty regular rotation of the taps; that being there is always something new to be found. These photos were taken Sunday at the Torrance Kiwanis annual Texas Hold ’Em Charity Poker Tournament; which was held at the Palos Verdes Bowl in Torrance, CA. This is one of the Torrance Kiwanis biggest fundraisers of the year, so it was good to see the large turnout. Ribbon Cutting at Coworking Plus, Torrance

Thursday afternoon we joined the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce for another ribbon cutting ceremony, this time at Coworking Plus, located at 2293 W. 190th St. in Torrance. From what I gather, Coworking Plus is owned by the same people that own Business Team, which is a business for sale brokerage. Apparently, from working closely with small business owners, startups and at home businesses, it was determined that there was a market for office space that could be rented by the day or week as well as for months and years. I have to admit, it is a pretty good …
